The San Juan College Foundation succeeded with a challenge from BP America – raise $5 million to construct the new School of Energy and the company would match that amount.
The college did just that, and during the Sept. 3 college board meeting, BP followed through on the promise. Julia Levy, director of government and public affairs for BP America, presented the foundation with a $1 million check, bringing the company’s total contribution to $5 million for the project.
